Andrew Bynum back in a Lakers uniform? Really?

The two-time NBA champion says that he was considering a return to the Los Angeles Lakers after he was waived by the Chicago Bulls earlier this season.

Bynum was traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers after he was suspended indefinitely in December “for conduct detrimental to the team.” The Bulls then immediately waived Bynum as a money-saving move.

Once he was a free agent, Bynum considered joining the Lakers and the Miami Heat before he finally decided to sign with the Indiana Pacers at the end of January, according to Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times.

There were no reports of the Lakers having interest in bringing their old center back during Bynum’s free agency period, so it’s unclear whether this was just something that Bynum was hoping would happen or whether he actually had discussions with his old team.

If he did indeed talk to the Lakers about a reunion, could he possibly return to the purple and gold this summer? Personally, I don’t see it happening at this point.

While Bynum will be a free agent once again at the season’s end, it seems that the Lakers have moved on from the days of Drew.
