The Los Angeles Lakers may be out of the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean that they’re still not a big focal point in the world of gambling.
Right now, with the second round of the playoffs well underway, some people may still be checking out the NBA Semifinals odds and lines while they bet on the current live action, but you can also put money on where you think players are going to land this off-season.
According to Eric Pincus, the gambling site Bovada thinks Dwight Howard will re-sign with the Lakers this summer:
According to the gambling website Bovada, the Lakers are the prohibitive favorite to sign their All-Star center Dwight Howard.
The Houston Rockets are the next-likely team to acquire Howard, with 11-4 odds. The Dallas Mavericks (3-1) and Atlanta Hawks (6-1) are also possibilities, according to Bovada.
The prospect of Howard playing for another team altogether is given 17-2 odds.
Bovada also gives 4-7 odds of the Lakers keeping Pau Gasol and even odds of the Spaniard playing elsewhere next year.
Mitch Kupchak spoke of his confidence in re-signing Howard just the other day, and now the bookies are echoing that thought process too.
The smart money is on Dwight returning to the Lakers this summer, so don’t be surprised to see him in the purple and gold for many years to come.
