With only 2 games left in the Lakers’ 2014-15 season, point guard Dwight Buycks has been ruled out for the rest of the year.
According to the Lakers’ official Twitter account, Buycks has fractured the right third metacarpal in his hand.
Buycks’ 10-day contract expired on Sunday night, though the Lakers were planning to re-sign him, according to Eric Pincus from the L.A. Times.
After the Jeremy Lin news on Sunday night, Buycks becomes the 9th Laker to be ruled out of action for the year due to injury.
As a result of this, the Lakers currently have just 8 healthy players on the roster. However, Wesley Johnson could bring that number up to 9 if his ankle sprain doesn’t turn out to be too serious.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Lakers call up another guard from the D-League for these final 2 games seeing as the team has just 2 healthy backcourt players on the roster right now.
