Injury Update: Jordan Clarkson out minimum of one week

Hey, it could’ve been worse.

Lakers rookie Jordan Clarkson injured his left calf during a game against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. The purple and gold announced on Friday that Clarkson had strained his calf and would miss at least one week of action.

While Clarkson missing a week of the preseason is not ideal, especially as the 22-year-old is still a rookie, the diagnosis could’ve been a lot worse.

The Lakers will be hoping that the likes of Clarkson, Wayne Ellington and Wesley Johnson will be able to stay healthy for opening night and beyond seeing as Nick Young is expected to miss around two months of action.

The team are also still without Xavier Henry who is currently suffering from back spasms. Ryan Kelly, who could also see minutes at the small forward spot, is still out of action with hamstring issues.
