Before the Lakers’ season officially gets underway next week, let’s take a quick moment to look back on this summer.
Although the Lakers ended up missing out on LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, July was an exciting month for the purple and gold as the team finally got to see their prized rookie in action.
Yes, despite the questions surrounding his foot (which were later dismissed) Julius Randle took to the floor in Las Vegas and put on a show. Sure, he was a little bit rusty seeing as he went four months without playing any five-on-five – which would later lead to Bleacher Report branding the 19-year-old a “dud” – though the Kentucky product still had Laker fans on the edge of their seat whenever he had the ball in his hands
Despite missing the team’s first game due to contractual issues, Randle would go on to register a total of 50 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists in Sin City.
It’s time to get excited about the future, Laker fans!
