These two guys may not be teammates anymore – and they may now play for rival teams – but that doesn’t stop them from having a little fun together.
Last season, Julius Randle and James Young both played a big part in Kentucky’s success as they helped carry the team to the NCAA Final, and although John Calipari’s young group ended up losing to Kevin Ollie’s more experienced squad, the two friends still have a lot to be happy about as they were both drafted into the NBA earlier this summer. And what do you do when you’re happy? You dance.
As seen in the Vine video below, both Randle and Young were showing off their moves during yesterday’s rookie photo shoot in New York City:
Randle and Young could’ve ended up being teammates in the pros, too, though the Boston Celtics decided to pass on Randle at six and selected Marcus Smart instead. This was just fine for Randle, who grew up as a fan of the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. Young would then wind up being selected by the Celtics with the seventeenth pick, meaning the two former teammates would be heading into their rookie seasons as bitter rivals.
