Kobe Bryant Injury Update (03/19/13)

We received an update on Pau Gasol earlier: he’s doing just fine with his rehab and an ultrasound test today confirmed this.

Now onto the next injured Lakers star: Kobe Bryant.

Bryant injured his ankle against Atlanta last week and then caught a cold/flu that seems to be going around the team – Pau said he had it and Steve Blake is apparently suffering with it right now – and this has caused Kobe to miss the last two games.

Kobe tweeted today that he is “feeling much stronger” and an official Lakers report said he received treatment today from the trainers:

Kobe Bryant – who missed the last two games and final three quarters at Indiana with a severely sprained left ankle – received treatment with L.A.’s training staff on Tuesday morning. He’s not expected to participate in a light practice on Wednesday, but the team will see how he feels.

Bryant is listed as “day to day,” and is expected to return to the floor sooner than later.

The Lakers next play on Friday when they face the Washington Wizards. If I had to bet on it, I’d say Kobe plays Friday, but we’ll see…
