On Friday, the basketball world were in shock after Indiana Pacers All-Star forward Paul George went down with a serious injury during Team USA’s intrasquad scrimmage in Las Vegas. After contesting James Harden’s fast break layup, George landed on the basket stanchion and suffered a compound fracture of both bones in his lower right leg. The 24-year-old is now expected to miss the entire 2014-15 NBA season.

Shortly after the injury occurred, Nick Young and Magic Johnson tweeted out their support for George. It was also revealed that Kobe Bryant, who has suffered two major injuries of his own over the past year, had reached out George on the night of the injury, though the Black Mamba also showed his support by sending out a tweet a couple of days later.

Former Lakers player and current assistant coach Mark Madsen also sent positive vibes Paul’s way via the micro-bloggigng platform.
