And in today’s not-so breaking news, Kobe Bryant says he’s aiming to win another championship next season.
The 35-year-old is currently in the midst of a promotional tour for Nike, and in-between destroying his opponents on the court, Bryant told the media that he’s “always” aiming to win a ring when he enters a brand new season.
“Championship. Always. Always. That’s the ultimate,” Bryant said, who turns 36 later this month. “When you stand at the bottom of the mountain your goal is to get to the top of the mountain, you don’t just want to go half way. So, it’s always championship.
“Whatever it is that you want to do, there’s always an opportunity to rise. Nothing is ever easy, nothing is ever perfect – especially the things that are worthwhile doing. There’s always going to be adversity, there’s always going to be challenges and those are all opportunity to rise above it.”
The odds may be stacked against the Lakers next season, but that doesn’t mean anything to the Black Mamba who has truly adopted the Lakers’ “championship or bust” mentality during his eighteen years in Los Angeles.
