Kobe or LeBron? That one is pretty much decided, by Lakers fans anyway. The big question is: Durant or LeBron?
What a better time than the NBA Finals to settle this argument. So far, Kevin Durant is out in front of “The King” after his 17-point fourth quarter performance in Game 1. That’s just one game a there’s still a lot of basketball to go, though.
But, how good can Durant become? According to Kobe Bryant, he can be great. Bryant recently said this about KD:
“A 6-11 me,” Bryant said.
“That dog in him?” Bryant asked. “He’s got it in him.”
A 6’11″ Kobe Bryant who has “that dog in him” and also has a 7’5″ wingspan? Is that even fair?
This comment by Kobe could mean that Durant is the one who Bryant wants to pass the torch to (at some point) – not LeBron.
Kobe has often talked of how LeBron would be the perfect teammate to compliment his game because of his deferring nature. Never has he mentioned Durant in this way, maybe because they’re just too alike.
Durant has a long way to go before he even comes close to Bryant’s greatness. But, aided by his age, freak of nature frame and love for the game of basketball, he’s definitely on the right track.
