So, about the NBA Draft Combine…
If you were looking forward to seeing some on-court action from some of the top prospects in the 2014 NBA Draft later this week, it looks like you’re about to be disappointed.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports, Kansas’ Joel Embiid and Andrew Wiggins will not be attending the Combine in Chicago, which begins on Wednesday.
Duke’s Jabari Parker is also not expected to be in attendance.
And, while Dante Exum (Australia), Julius Randle (Kentucky), Aaron Gordon (Arizona), Noah Vonleh (Indiana), Tyler Ennis (Syracuse), Doug McDermott (Creighton) and Nik Stauskas (Michigan) will be in Chicago, they are “unlikely to participate in drills,” according to ESPN’s Chad Ford.
This is a smart move by the players and their agents as this will allow them to only co-operate with teams they’re interested in.
Exum is someone who could gain the most by skipping the drills as it has long been rumored that he and his agent, Rob Pelinka, would be interested in manipulating the draft by limiting his workouts in order for him to end up as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on June 26th.
