With less than two weeks to go until the NBA Draft, a name that many NBA fans won’t be all that familiar with has cropped up.
According to Marc Stein from ESPN, Kristaps Porzingis is now under consideration to be taken by the Los Angeles Lakers with their number two overall pick.
Porzingis, a seven-footer from Latvia, worked out in Las Vegas yesterday where the Lakers’ basketball operations team, including general manager Mitch Kupchak, were in attendance.
Now, would the Lakers actually take a risk on a guy like Porzingis? While his skill is undeniable, he is far from a “safe pick” like Jahlil Okafor.
If the Lakers had the fourth or fifth pick, maybe they would take a chance on Porzingis. But at number two? I just can’t see it.
