As the rumors regarding Dwight Howard‘s future continue to swirl, it seems that the Los Angeles Lakers are heavily in the loop with Dwight’s current thinking.
According to Dave McMenamin, the Lakers and Howard have had “A LOT” of communication since their exit interview back in early May:
How much dialogue have the Lakers had with Dwight and his representatives since exit interviews in May? "A LOT," texted a league source— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) June 16, 2013
This is hopefully good news for Laker fans at a time when rumors of Howard and Chris Paul wanting to team up are gaining momentum.
On Friday, it was reported that Howard and Paul have been discussing the possibility of signing with the same team this summer, while on Saturday the news broke that the Los Angeles Clippers would apparently be interested in a sign-and-trade deal for Dwight, with Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe heading to the Lakers.
If Dwight and the Lakers are communicating on a regular basis, they can hopefully keep each other informed with what’s happening on their end, meaning they’ll likely be on the same page. That could be big heading into July, when numerous teams will be trying to lure Howard away from the Lakers.
