The Dallas Mavericks have signed Devin Ebanks, according to the team’s official website:
[pullquote]The Dallas Mavericks announced today they have signed forward Devin Ebanks. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.[/pullquote]
Ebanks worked out for the Orlando Magic yesterday and headed to Dallas straight after; it seems the Mavs liked him enough to sign him up there and then. It is unclear whether the contract is partially guaranteed, but it probably will be at this point seeing as the team already has 19 players under contract.
Ebanks had shown signs of promise while playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he became a favorite of Mike Brown‘s, but once Brown was fired and Mike D’Antoni was hired, Ebanks struggled to see court time; even during blowouts, he was still left sitting on the pine.
The Lakers didn’t extend a qualifying offer to Ebanks this summer, so his departure isn’t all that surprising. The news follows Darius Morris’ agreement to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.
