Julius Randle is serious about becoming a great basketball player. Therefore, it’s no wonder that Kobe Bryant likes him.
Randle, the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, broke his leg during a routine drive to the basket during his first NBA game in October.
However, instead of letting the injury get the best of him, it seems that Randle has used the setback as some serious motivation for an epic comeback.
During Tuesday night’s nationally televised Lakers-Clippers game, TNT’s David Aldridge revealed that Randle has lost 18 pounds since his season-ending injury.
Randle started the season at 250 pounds, according to ESPN.
This isn’t the first time that the Kentucky product has lost a considerable amount of weight, though.
According to this mother, Carolyn Kyles, Randle dropped 20 pounds in the lead up to the NBA Draft last summer.
The then 19-year-old Randle lost the weight thanks to healthy eating and three-a-day workouts, his mother told Kentucky.com at the time.
