With the NBA Draft out of the way, the Lakers’ focus will now turn to free agency which begins on Monday.
One of the Lakers’ rumored targets is Carmelo Anthony, and it seems the All-Star forward is set to meet with the purple and gold once the free agency period begins, according to Marc J. Spears from Yahoo Sports.
The Lakers’ stance on Anthony has always been unknown, though the purple and gold will reportedly attempt to land both Carmelo and his good friend LeBron James. However, for this to happen, both players would have to take a pay cut.
Spears says Anthony also plans to meet with the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks. The 30-year-old is expected to come to a decision by the second week of July.
