Lakers Rumors: Kobe Bryant and Mike D’Antoni not on speaking terms?

NBA: Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Lakers

Could the relationship between Kobe Bryant and Mike D’Antoni be so bad that they’re not even on speaking terms? Maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, though the pair haven’t spoken “in quite some time” according to TNT’s Craig Sager.

Of course, there’s the possibility that Sager simply misinterpreted D’Antoni’s claim, though it makes you think that there could be something to it seeing as there’s been a couple of anti-D’Antoni reports that have surfaced over the past few days.

It also makes you wonder whether D’Antoni’s the reason that Bryant is no longer visible on the Lakers’ bench during home games these days.

ESPN Los Angeles’ Ramona Shelburne said yesterday that it’s “no secret [the] relationship between Kobe and D’Antoni isn’t wonderful.”

There seems to be a recurring theme here.

D’Antoni is under contract for next season, though the Lakers are expected to assess the entire coaching staff at the end of the year, according to Shelburne.
