As the Los Angeles Lakers await word from LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan, they continue to pursue various backup plans.
One big man who the Lakers have been linked to is Portland Trail Blazers free agent Robin Lopez.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports, Lopez is under “serious consideration” by the Lakers.
However, the New York Knicks are also reportedly in pursuit and have offered Lopez a deal in the $12-13 million per season range.
Lopez, 27, was born in North Hollywood and is known for his defensive capabilities.
Last season, the 7-footer averaged 9.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 27.8 minutes per game.
