With the full 2013-14 NBA schedule expected to be released tomorrow, this will be the last “leaked” schedule post. However, we’re ending on a pretty important part of the Lakers’ season: the annual Grammy Trip.
The Lakers leave L.A. every year as Staples Center gears up for the Grammy Awards, which usually means the Lakers are on the road for nearly two weeks. Sometimes, it can make or break a season: strong bonds and winning streaks can be formed, or a whole lot of losses can pile up pretty quickly.
According to Kevin Ding, the Lakers will start the Grammy trip on January 15th and end it on January 26th, with stops in Phoenix, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Miami, Orlando and New York.
While Phoenix, Boston and Toronto aren’t expected to put up much of a fight next season – although, we know that every team gives L.A. their best every night – the last four games of the trip will likely be tough for the Lakers.
The start to the season won’t be easy, either, as they begin the year with a back-to-back: they open the season versus the Clippers, and then play the Warriors the next night, followed by the Spurs.
Also, the Lakers will once again play on Christmas Day, as they’ll take on the defending champions at home in Los Angeles.
