It seems that the Los Angeles Lakers are about to kick off their string of pre-draft workouts with a bang.
According to Jeff Goodman from ESPN, the Lakers will host a mega workout on Wednesday featuring some of the top prospects in this year’s draft class.
The players who are reportedly scheduled to workout at the Lakers’ facility on Wednesday include Marcus Smart (Oklahoma State), Tyler Ennis (Syracuse), Elfrid Payton (Louisiana), Nik Stauskas (Michigan), Zach LaVine (UCLA), James Young (Kentucky), Rodney Hood (Duke), Doug McDermott (Creighton), Noah Vonleh (Indiana) and Aaron Gordon (Arizona).
Most of the players listed above are projected to go in the lottery, though prospects such as Payton, LaVine and Hood will likely go in the high teens or low twenties.
The Lakers are currently set to make the seventh overall pick in the draft on June 26th, though general manager Mitch Kupchak mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the team would consider trading for an additional first-round pick.
NBA teams are allowed to bring in up to twenty prospects for private workouts in the lead up to the draft.
