The Los Angeles Lakers are said to be interested in 6’6″ guard Xavier Henry. According to Ramona Shelburne and Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Henry will suit up for the Lakers at training camp this fall:
Hearing the same. Set to be a camp invitee. RT @ramonashelburne Lakers have a level of interest in Xavier Henry, from what I hear.— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) September 4, 2013
The former 12th overall pick has struggled to find a home in the NBA after being drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010. The college stand-out will likely have to impress in order to land a spot on the Lakers, who have a roster full of guards, though the exposure of playing for the purple and gold could give him a chance to be signed by another professional team.
At 22-years-old, the shooting guard still has time to flourish in the Association and make a name for himself.
