Free agency is well underway – Paul George is staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chris Paul is re-upping with the Houston Rockets – yet all is quiet on the LeBron James to the Los Angeles Lakers front.
As it stands, it’s currently unclear whether the Lakers have even communicated with the James, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
The level of contact between LeBron James and the Lakers thus far is not yet clear, but one source close to the process tells @NYTSports that LeBron and Lakers lead recruiter Magic Johnson did NOT have dinner together after free agency began at 9:01 PM Los Angeles time last night

However, one would expect that the Lakers must have at least called LeBron’s agent.
Some NBA executives expect even more.
According to Kevin O’Connor from The Ringer, some executives believe James has already to decided to sign with the Lakers and his “indecision is all theater.”
James’ representatives are set to meet with the Philadelphia 76ers in Los Angeles today, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi, and the Denver Nuggets are said to have interest in getting a meeting, too.
And all the while, reports of James and the Lakers having any meetings set are non-existent. Are the Lakers and LeBron’s camp keeping their cards close to their chest, or has there really been no contact between the two sides?
As always, we’ll just have to wait and see.
