Pau Gasol to undergo MRI exam on left foot

UPDATE: Pau Gasol has been diagnosed with a moderate strain in his big toe and will be a game-time decision versus Cleveland, according to the Lakers.

More injury news for the Los Angeles Lakers?

Pau Gasol is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on his left foot today, according to the Lakers’ official Twitter account. He apparently injured his foot during Friday’s blowout loss to the Los Angeles Clippers:

Let’s hope that the results of this examination are good. The Lakers are banged up enough as it is.

Gasol had problems with his left foot earlier in the season when an MRI revealed a strained muscle. He didn’t miss any games due to the injury, however.

Gasol has been on a tear as of late and is averaging 18.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.0 blocks per game so far in January.
