Robert Upshaw: “I Know That I’ll Be A Laker”

While the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to deals with a number of players over the last couple of weeks, one name that has yet to be signed is undrafted rookie center Robert Upshaw.

Upshaw, who played for the Lakers’ Summer League team in Las Vegas back in July, reportedly agreed to a deal with the purple and gold after his first game with the squad, though the 21-year-old still hasn’t signed on the dotted line.

However, despite still being unsigned, Upshaw told Scout.com in an interview over the weekend that he knows he’ll “be a Laker.”

Upshaw was the most prolific shot blocker in college while playing for Washington last season and was a projected lottery pick before off the court problems lead the university to kick the 7-footer off the team.

Now, Upshaw is said to be on his best behavior as he awaits the start of training camp in a few weeks’ time.
