The Minnesota Timberwolves have had interest in Pau Gasol for what seems like forever.
Well, according to 1500 ESPN, that still hasn’t changed:
As long as the Lakers are losing, forward/center Pau Gasol’s name will percolate in trade rumors. Consider the Wolves still in the hunt.
Gasol had a good game tonight versus the Utah Jazz and is actually averaging 13.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in just 27 minutes per game. His stats as a starter in 34.2 minutes are basically the same, so Gasol’s production with the second unit has definitely improved.
The Lakers may end up choosing not to trade Pau: they already have reservations incase Dwight leaves in the summer. Plus, Gasol’s contract runs out in 2014 and the team doesn’t want to bring on long, large contracts that mess up their plan for that off-season.
