Sixers Reportedly Tell Ben Simmons They Will Take Him With First Pick In Draft

It looks like Ben Simmons will be off the board when the Lakers are on the clock later this week

It looks like LSU’s Ben Simmons will be a member of the Philadelphia 76ers come Thursday night.

According to a report by Chris Haynes from Cleveland.com, the Sixers have informed Simmons’ camp that he will be taken with the first overall pick later this week.

Marc Stein from ESPN tweeted earlier on Tuesday that Simmons worked out for the Sixers today.

It is believed that the Sixers are the only team Simmons has worked out for in the lead up to the draft.

Ever since the draft order was announced last month, Simmons has been penciled in as the first pick for the Sixers.

Duke’s Brandon Ingram is expected to by selected by the Lakers with the second overall pick in the draft, according to RealBet Sportsbook.

Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.0 steals in his freshman season, while Ingram registered 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals per game during his one year at Duke.
