PHOTO: Steve Nash back on the practice floor, now has grey beard

Steve Nash back, Steve Nash back, yeah he has a grey beard but Steve Nash back!

Steve Nash is finally back on the practice floor and he still looks like Steve Nash – apart from his new grey beard, of course.

In all seriousness, Nash’s beard isn’t that grey, except for around the chin area where his age is starting to show a little. It’s worth remembering that the two-time MVP is 39-years-old and will turn 40 next month, so a little grey here and there is to be expected.

Also, it probably doesn’t help that he’s pictured next to 22-year-old Kendall Marshall and his jet black beard.

Either way, it’s great to see Steve back on the court at last. According to tweets out of the practice facility today, Nash won’t play tomorrow night versus the Charlotte Bobcats but it’s possible he could be good to go next week.

It’s unclear whether he’ll still be sporting the beard when he does get back on the court, though. I think he might – a beard seems to be a requirement if you want to play point guard for the Lakers these days.

Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar were also back on the practice court today and were proudly displaying their facial hair, too.

So, it looks as if the Lakers could have a logjam at the point guard position within the coming week. While we have yet to hear his thoughts on the matter, Mike D’Antoni will likely play two point guards in the backcourt in order to give guys the minutes they deserve.

Marshall has been phenomenal since he became a starter at the beginning of the month, and we all know what Blake and Farmar can do.

And, of course, Nash is going to see court time, too.

Let the battle of the beards commence!
