Steve Nash’s left leg still feels “off”

We haven’t seen Steve Nash since November 10 when he played 13 minutes during a game against the Minnesota Timberwovles and was forced to head to the sidelines due to back problems.

Since then, Nash has taken a few trips to Canada to work out with his personal trainer and has mostly stayed behind the scenes as he tries to get his body back to a level where it will allow him to continue playing basketball.

However, according to J.A. Adande from ESPN, Nash is still having nerve problems in his left leg, the same one he fractured after a collision with Damian Lillard at the beginning of last season:

[pullquote]Steve Nash said before the game that when he put up some shots the other day, his left leg still felt off. It’s as if his nerves are communicating with the muscles in different languages.[/pullquote]

This is sad to hear.

As much as some Laker fans would rather see Nash retire at this point, you have to admire his love for the game and the effort he is putting in as he attempts one last comeback.

Nash wants to repay the Lakers’ franchise and supporters for the fairly large contract he signed in 2012 – so far he’s only been able to give them very little, and he knows that – although, you have to wonder if Father Time finally caught up with the legendary point guard.

As a fan of the game, I sure hope that’s not the case.
