The time when Shaquille O’Neal pimped rookie Luke Walton’s ride

When Luke Walton arrived in Los Angeles in 2003, he turned up in his 1970 Cadillac convertible that his older brother had passed down to him. As soon as Shaquille O’Neal clapped eyes on the rundown car, he hooked Luke up with an L.A. body shop.

Yes, Shaq pimped Luke’s car, according to Cleveland.com – though it’s unclear who ended up paying the bill:

Did you know Luke used to drive around the University of Arizona campus in a ratty old, gold Cadillac convertible — Arizona coach Lute Olson declined the offer of a ride — or that when he was drafted by the Lakers, Shaquille O’Neal hooked him up with an L.A. body shop that fixed the top and painted the car candy-apple red?

This is just one of the things that makes Shaq awesome. Maybe he could be the new “Xzibit” and bring back “Pimp My Ride”?

Kobe recently named Shaq as the funniest teammate he’s ever had – along with Gary Payton – and also said that he and Shaq would beat Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen if they ever had the chance to match up against each other while in their respective primes.
