Welcome to the Lakerholicz.com edition of Throwback Thursdays! Each Thursday, we will recognize a random moment in Laker history. It can be anything like classic game winning shots, interviews, quotes, trash talking, dunks, etc. Some memories will be completely random, while others may be relative to what is happening in the present day.
Shaquille O’Neal turned 41 years old yesterday so this edition of Throwback Thursday is dedicated to his birthday. On March 6th, 2000, Shaq celebrated his 28th birthday by demolishing the Los Angeles Clippers with a career high 61 points and 23 rebounds. To this day, Shaq believes that this game was his greatest individual performance.
On NBA TV’s open court, Shaq discussed his big night and took some shots at Keith Closs from the Clippers, who had the responsibility of guarding him on this historic night. Happy birthday Shaq!
