Last season, Steve Nash was trying to run the Princeton offense – which pretty much eliminated any pick-and-roll action – and then he got hurt just two games into the regular season. He eventually returned to the court, but was far from 100 percent and wasn’t fully able to play his style of game due to Dwight Howard‘s insistence on being a post-player.
However, this season should be different. Nash is not only said to be fully healthy, but he also has a squad full of players who are going to love playing alongside him.
In the video clip below, which was posted on the Lakers’ Instagram account, Nash can be seen running up-and-down the court freely, and also shows off a little of his legendary point guard skills as he finds both Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman for free throw line jumpers:
If Nash can be anything close to his old self next season, it’ll definitely help the Lakers pick up a few more Ws. The Canadian is only one season removed from leading the league in total assists, so it’s not all that far-fetched to think that he can still be one of the top guards in this league, despite being almost 40-years-old.
