Byron Scott Says Kobe Bryant Will “Probably” Play Power Forward At Times Next Season

Kobe Bryant is already reportedly prepared to play at the small forward position next season, but how about the power forward?

In an interview with’s David Aldridge, Byron Scott said that Bryant will “probably” play at the power forward position during the Lakers’ 2015-16 campaign:

Kobe can play one, two and three. There’s no doubt in my mind. And there’s some games, against some teams, where he’ll probably play four. With his tenaciousness, the way he guards people and when his mind is set, if I say ‘Kobe, you’ve got him,’ he takes that as a challenge. You know how he is. He’ll compete.

With the NBA going small these days, a lot of players are moving up a position – e.g. small forwards are becoming power forwards and power forwards are becoming centers – so there may be times when Bryant, while playing at the three, is suddenly matched up with a guy like Paul George or Carmelo Anthony on defense.
