As much as Chris Paul claims he loves being a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, it seems he was over the moon when he was traded to the Lakers in 2011, albeit for just a matter of hours.

Tonight, during a special event for his foundation, Kobe Bryant revealed that CP3 called him after the trade went down and was “excited” about joining the Lakers. Of course, that excitement didn’t last:

After the trade was vetoed, Paul famously tweeted “WoW” in response to the shocking move. Despite Paul’s efforts, the league wouldn’t change their mind on the decision.

In the end, the Lakers pulled out of the negotiations, which opened the door for the Clippers to snap up the star point guard.
