Howard met with new Magic GM Rob Hennigan today for an hour-long conversation, according to Real GM. During that conversation, Howard reiterated his desire to be traded and told the Magic that if he isn’t traded, he will walk at the end of the year:
During the meeting, Howard informed Hennigan that he would be willing to re-sign with the Lakers at the end of the 12-13 season if the two teams were able to complete a trade. The scenarios Howard was open to during the meeting were: An immediate trade to the Lakers, a January trade to the Brooklyn Nets or a clean break at the end of the 2012-13 season. But he was clear that he would not return to the Magic, choosing to leave as a free agent after the season, sources said.
However, the article also states that the Magic are still in no rush to get a deal done. If they want to “bottom out” and get a top lottery pick in next years draft, they’ll have to move Howard before the season starts or risk hurting their chances of a high pick.
Chris Mannix also tweeted that Howard’s camp are pushing for Orlando to trade Dwight to the Lakers:
There is a strong push coming from Howard’s camp to deal the disgruntled center to the Lakers. Viewed as only realistic possibility.

Hopefully this thing ends soon and D12 is wearing purple and gold…
