James Worthy: “It would be hard for me to play another game for [Donald] Sterling”

Add James Worthy to the list of people who no longer wants to be associated with the Los Angeles Clippers while Donald Sterling is in charge.

As you’ve likely heard by now, TMZ released an audio recording of Sterling telling his girlfriend not to bring black people – including Magic Johnson – to Clipper games. This then lead to Magic tweeting that he and his wife would not be attending any more Clipper games until they have a new owner.

And now, Big Game James has chimed in, too.

“I know coaches & players play for each other & especially THE FANS, but it would be hard for me to play another game for Sterling,” Worthy wrote on his Twitter page.

However, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers later put a rest to the rumors that his team may sit out tomorrow night’s playoff game against the Golden State Warriors as a way of boycotting Sterling. Instead, Rivers stated that his team would “protest” via their play on the court.
