VIDEOS: Julius Randle assists in rookie photo shoot dunk contest

Today, the league’s top young prospects gathered in New York City for the NBA’s annual rookie photo shoot. Julius Randle was representing the purple and gold in the Big Apple, and even took to the court to assist in an impromptu dunk contest between the rookies.

While it would’ve been nice to see Randle show off his athleticism and throw down a dunk of his own – he registered a 35.5 inch max vertical at the NBA Draft Combine in May – it’s still pretty cool to see the 19-year-old get involved in the festivities and show off his passing skills.

In the first Vine video shared by Panini, Randle teams up with Elfrid Payton from the Orlando Magic and Adrian Payne from the Atlanta Hawks to set up a nice baseline slam:

Then, in the second video, Randle teams up with Payton and Payne once again, though this time, Thanasis Antetokounmpo from the New York Knicks, James Young from the Boston Celtics and Orlando’s Aaron Gordon jump in on the action:

Could this be a preview of next year’s Rookie-Sophomore game, which will also take place in New York at the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend? If so, it looks like it will definitely be a fun game to watch.
