Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer congratulate Kobe Bryant on 32,000 career points

On Tuesday night, Kobe Bryant reached the 32,000 career point mark with a trademark fadeaway jumper over the outstretched arm the Atlanta Hawks’ Thabo Sefolosha, making the five-time NBA champion just the fourth player to reach the 32k mark in the history of the league – the other three players are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Michael Jordan.

After the game, people from all walks of life took to social media to congratulate the Black Mamba on his remarkable achievement. Here are four of our favorites.

Justin Timberlake

JT has been killing it on Basketball Twitter as of late. Earlier this week, the Memphis native took to his Twitter account to defend his loyalty to the Grizzlies after one of his followers called the singer a “bandwagon” fan.

Timberlake followed up his Grizzlies tweets by sending a congratulatory message to Kobe after hitting the 32k mark.

Jeremy Lin

If you didn’t already know by now, Jeremy Lin likes to joke around now and again and doesn’t take himself too seriously. So, as you might expect, his congratulatory tweet to Kobe Bryant was pretty awesome:

Snoop Dogg

While Snoop Doggy Dogg may sometimes have his fandom questioned by followers of the purple and gold, the L.A. native is a Laker fan at heart (we think).

After Bryant cracked the 32,000 points mark, Snoop gave out a shout out to Black Mamba via his highly amusing Instagram account – seriously, if you’re not following him you’re missing out.

“@kobebryant congrats baby bro!!” Snoop wrote in caption. “Lakeshow 4 life !!”

Carlos Boozer

Just like Snoop, Boozer’s Instagram page can be entertaining, too, mainly due to the weird hashtags he uses on a regular basis.

You may have realized by now that Boozer uses the hashtag “#holdat” quite a lot – he even used it on his post about Kobe’s points record – though some of you likely don’t know what it means. That’s where Urban Dictionary comes in handy:

Usually used when you do something hot against another term. It can be used in sports when you do an excellent move against someone.

You dunk on someone in a basketball game. Yell at the guy “Holdat!”

“Wanna Give A Shout Out To Big Bro @kobebryant For Reaching 32k Points!!!” Boozer wrote in the caption while using the same photo as Snoop, along with the hashtags “#livinglegend #kareem.jordan.mailman.kobe #hardwork,” and, of course, “#holdat.”

With Bryant now just a couple of hundred points away from passing Michael Jordan for third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, most of these guys will probably be congratulating the Mamba again in the not so distant future.

Stay tuned.
