Lakers meeting with restricted free agent Clint Capela today

The Los Angeles Lakers will meet with Houston Rockets restricted free agent Clint Capela, per a report

Paul George is already off the table, and all is currently quiet on the LeBron James front. So, now free agency is well and truly underway, what’s next for the Lakers?

According to TNT’s David Aldridge, it’s Clint Capela.

Capela, who is a restricted free agent with the Houston Rockets, is one of the best center’s in the game and only 24-years-old.

However, could the Lakers really snag Capela away from the Rockets? In restricted free agency, such things are always possible if the deal is right, but the purple and gold would have to be clever when it comes to the financial side of things seeing as LeBron may very well be signing with the franchise in the coming days.

It could also just be that the Lakers are doing their due diligence by meeting with one of the league’s best center’s.

Either way, Lakers executive Magic Johnson and general manager Rob Pelinka are certainly exploring every avenue right now.
