Kobe Bryant may have just returned from a whirlwind tour of Asia, but he’s got his finger on the pulse – as always.
Yesterday, ESPN released their predictions for the Western Conference standings next season; they placed the Lakers at 12th in conference, which would obviously put them way out of the playoff race.
The news outlet predicted the Lakers would have 36 wins and 46 losses, putting them behind the New Orleans Pelicans, who they think will accumulate 37 wins.
It appears that Kobe caught wind of the prediction and acknowledged the purple and gold’s sub-par expectations for next season:
Although, it seems that not all of those at ESPN are writing the Lakers off.
Lakers beat writer, Dave McMenamin, and his fellow ESPN colleague, Ramona Shelburne, both figure the Lakers will be in the playoff race next year:
ESPN also have the Phoenix Suns as the last team in the West with 22 Ws, while they say the Oklahoma City Thunder will lead the pack with a record of 58-24.
It’s worth noting that last year, ESPN had the Lakers at 59-23, which put them at second in West, according to their predictions.
