Lakers News: Kobe Bryant and Chris Kaman sit out practice due to soreness

Yes, Kobe Bryant sat out practice today. No, this isn’t considered a setback.

Everything we’ve heard so far about Kobe’s return to practice has mostly been great – and he’s looked pretty good, too – though this is the first piece of news we’ve heard that’s caused a bit of a stir.

However, it’s worth noting that soreness in the Achilles area is expected – after all, this is the first time that Bryant has cut, jumped and performed general basketball movements in seven months.

Chris Kaman also sat out of practice today with some soreness of his own, according to Mike Trudell. Kaman felt the soreness in his back and sat out the training session as a precaution.

The Lakers play against the Golden State Warriors tomorrow night at Staples and then end their home stand on Sunday night when they face the Sacramento Kings before leaving California for a three-game road trip on the East Coast.
