With the 2014 NBA Draft just hours away, the rumors continue to swirl.

According to Chad Ford from ESPN Insider, Julius Randle appears to be at the top of the Lakers’ list when it comes to their seventh overall selection. Marcus Smart is reportedly their second choice.

If both Randle and Smart are off the board by the time the Lakers are on the clock, Ford says Doug McDermott and Elfrid Payton are next on the purple and gold’s list.

However, despite Dave McMenamin from ESPN Los Angeles reporting that the Lakers aren’t too keen on the prospect of drafting Joel Embiid due to his injury woes, Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports says the Lakers are “seriously in play” as a potential landing spot for the 20-year-old.

That’s if the Lakers hold onto the pick, of course.

ESPN’s Ford says Klay Thompson, Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young are all “interesting” options to the purple and gold, too, so don’t be surprised if the team tries to get involved in a trade as the night progresses.
