Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born in New York on April 16th, 1947. The superstar’s accomplishments include being drafted first¬†overall out of UCLA in 1969, winning Rookie of the Year in 1970, being selected to 19 All-Star games and winning six championship rings.

The big man retired in 1989 at the age of 42 as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a record that still stands to this day.
