Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was born in New York on April 16th, 1947. The superstar’s accomplishments include being drafted first overall out of UCLA in 1969, winning Rookie of the Year in 1970, being selected to 19 All-Star games and winning six championship rings.

The big man retired in 1989 at the age of 42 as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a record that still stands to this day.
