Milwaukee Bucks interviewing Lakers assistant Steve Clifford for head coaching job

Steve Clifford is a man in high demand right now.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers‘ assistant coach is scheduled to meet with the Milwaukee Bucks today to discuss their head coaching vacancy:

When Bucks general manager John Hammond reached out to gauge Stan Van Gundy’s interest in the job, Van Gundy declined but delivered a strong recommendation for Clifford, league sources said. Clifford spent five years on Van Gundy’s Orlando Magic staff before joining the Lakers in the summer of 2012.[/pullquote]

Clifford is also expected to talk with the Charlotte Bobcats about their head coaching position. Mike D’Antoni apparently wants to bring Clifford back next year, but at this rate, he could possibly land a top job elsewhere.
