I wanted to include my 2 cents in the debate of who is on the list of the greatest Lakers of all-time. Many argue that the greatest Laker is either Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson or even Jerry West, nevertheless, below are my Top 10 Laker greats, including an explanation of why I put them in each position.

10) Pau Gasol

(2008-Present) PF/C, 7ft, 250lb.
2x NBA champion (2009-2010)
4x NBA All-Star (to date)
NBA Rookie of the Year (2002)

Many people may not agree with me on this, but I feel that Pau Gasol pushed his way into the Lakers’ Top 10 with his 2009 and 2010 playoff and season performance. The trade that brought Pau to the Lakers also kept Kobe Bryant at the Lakers, eventually building a chemistry and relationship that no other two players have. Although, others may point out various struggles that Pau has had since coming to the Lakers, I feel that it would be selfish as well as ignorant to overlook Pau’s contributions and achievements to the Los Angeles Lakers, especially after the post-Shaq era where the Lakers struggled to win a title. I feel that over the years, Pau will go up in the ranks, especially if he wins another title. At the current age of 33, Pau Gasol has a few years in him, therefore a few more title runs in him, alongside Kobe.
