The Los Angeles Lakers have signed forward Jonathan Holmes to a multi-year deal, general manager Mitch Kupchak has announced.
Holmes went undrafted out of Texas back in June. The 22-year-old spent four years in college. Holmes, 6’9″ averaged 10.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.0 block in 26.1 minutes per game last season while shooting 33 percent from three-point range.
The San Antonio native also averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals in 21.8 minutes per game while playing for the Boston Celtics’ Summer League team in Las Vegas last month, per Lakers.com.
According to Eric Pincus from the L.A. Times, only $100,000 of Holmes’ $1.4 million salary for this season is guaranteed.
