Yesterday, we said that it looked like the Lakers wanted to possibly carry just 14 players into the season, meaning they’d need to drop Darius Johnson-Odom and Andrew Goudelock if they want to sign Robert Sacre.
According to Sportando.net, DJO has a gig lined up in Ukraine if he is dropped by the Lakers – via HoopsRumors:
Earlier this week it was reported that Darius Johnson-Odom would soon be waived by the Lakers. According to Sportando.net he’s going to Ukraine to play for Azovmash Mariupol. The 6’2″ guard averaged 18.3 PPG with Marquette last season.
Does this mean that the Lakers might hold onto Goudelock? Last night, he showed he can still shoot the ball and score with that floater – even though it was in garbage time, he put up 9 points in 5 minutes – so perhaps the team would like to offer him a contract.
Then again, the original report could be right and the Lakers may just sign Sacre. We’ll find out soon enough.
lakers should sign sacre..he’s a solid center. then they can cut darius morris and sign either derek fisher or delonte west( if the mavs waives him) if west is not available sign one of reliable free agents like PIETRUS,K-MART,JOSH HOWARD or BILL WALKER.
