When Steve Nash‘s “tryout” with soccer club Inter Milan was first reported last week, it raised a few eyebrows. Not only because the all-star guard is still recovering from injury, but because he’s kinda already under contract with the Lakers.
However, Nash says it’s more of an “honorary trout” – basically just a practice – according to NBA.com’s Lang Whitaker:
[pullquote]ME: So run this down for me: You’re trying out for Inter Milan today?
NASH: (laughs) Sort of, yeah. I think that’s the way it’s being labeled, but it’s more of an honorary tryout, more like I’m going to go practice with them. But yeah, I’m looking forward to it.[/pullquote]
You can stop worrying now fans, we’re just “talkin’ about practice”.
Nash also told Whitaker that he’s “not quite 100 percent” just yet, but should be there in about three or four weeks.
One thing’s for sure: the Lakers could definitely do with a healthy Steve Nash next season.
