Three Lakers selected to play on the All-Star Rising Stars Challenge

Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram will represent Team USA in this year’s contest

Earlier this week, it was announced by the NBA that Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Brandon Ingram had been selected to play in the Rising Stars game during All-Star weekend.

The showcase features two rosters made up of rookies and sophomores: Team USA and Team World. The players are selected by the league’s assistant coaches.

The two rookies, Ball and Kuzma, and the sophomore, Ingram, will be playing for Team USA. This team will feature players like Donovan Mitchell, Dennis Smith Jr, Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown. Team World will feature the likes of Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Jamal Murray, and Lauri Markkanen.

In last year’s rising star challenge, Team World defeated Team USA 150-141, behind Jamal Murray’s 36 points. In this edition, the three Laker players will look for redemption.

This year, the All-Star weekend will be hosted by Los Angeles and the Lakers will be well represented. Lets hope that they put on a show and do us Lakers fans proud.
