Another day, another record. Kobe Bryant seems to pass a new milestone every week or so, but this one was pretty special.
On Saturday night during a game versus the Sacramento Kings, Bryant pulled up for a 15-footer and drilled it, something he’s done over and over during his storied career. Another two points in the bank. Except, these weren’t just any two points.
As the ball fell through the hoop, Kobe passed basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain for 4th on the NBA all-time scoring list. Let that sink in for a moment: This man has scored more points than every other player that has ever played in the NBA, apart from the three guys ahead of him now: Michael Jordan, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Jordan is next in his sights, and Bryant should pass him about halfway through next season.
Fourth all-time? That’s quite a feat. Check out the historic moment in the video above.
