VIDEO: Kobe Bryant passes Michael Jordan in points, becomes third all-time

Well, this was the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

Midway through the second quarter of tonight’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kobe Bryant passed Michael Jordan in career points scored as he made two free throws. The game was then stopped as Bryant was presented with the game ball.

The only two players ahead of Bryant now are Karl Malone (second) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (first). The Lakers now have four former players in the top five (Wilt Chamberlain is fifth all-time in points scored).

Congratulations, Kobe! Here’s to many more points to come.
